Field Trips
There are an abundance of opportunities for wonderful experiences with Georgia history throughout our great state. We are continuing to research and schedule more activities. The details will be firm before our enrichment program starts in September.
BELOW ARE SOME OF THE FIELD TRIPS WE ARE CONSIDERING.
Atlanta History Center-19th Century Skills
Tuesday, September 9th
1pm-4pm
$6/person-PAY AT THE DOOR
Learn about the skills necessary to survive in the 1800s such as blacksmithing, open-hearth cooking, candle-dipping, spinning wool, and more!
Atlanta History Center-Native Lands
Monday, November 13th
1pm-4pm
$6/person-PAY AT THE DOOR
Celebrate American Indian Heritage Month by touring our exhibition Native Lands and discover what life was like for the first Georgians.
Chattahoochee Nature Center

Approximately $7/person
Basic Needs of Plants & Animals: Focusing on the basic needs of Georgia native plants and animals students will learn how they are able to survive and thrive in the wild.
Harry’s Farmers Market
70 Powers Ferry Road

Cost: Approximately $5-$10
We will tour the Market and get hands on experience with the many items Georgia produces, including a taste test!
Fernbank Museum of Natural History
Fernbank is currently finalizing their field trip offerings for the 2008-2009 school year. Fernbank is a great resource for Georgia history especially for looking at the different regions and wildlife which we will be focusing on for Fall Term.
